"Like her the Saints retire, in their Chapeaux of fire, Martial as she!"

November, 2020

My work is concerned with feminist critique and socio-political issues.  This is a world upside down, but rendered with a sense of humor and optimism.  Throughout my career I have explored these conceits in drawings, paintings and sculptures and in the hybrids created by their overlapping techniques.

Currently I am working on constructions that are mask headdresses, inspired by strong women personalities.  The work is composed of a variety of symbolic images such as flowers, birds, and architectural elements.  They are painted on layers of plexiglass with acrylics and mixed media transfers that incorporate my drawings.  they celebrate both our history and our future.

"What I treasure most in life is being able to dream. During my most difficult moments and complex situations I have been able to dream of a more beautiful future."*
